For almost 85 years, Bodega Joan has been part of the life of Barcelona. Since 1942, when Joan Balsells and Balbina Garrido opened their doors in the Eixample, we have served the traditional Spanish and Catalan cuisine that defines us: our paellas, snails a la llauna, grilled meats and the warm, family atmosphere of always.

To keep living up to that history, we need to renew ourselves. That is why, from June 8 to 29 we will close temporarily to carry out renovations at our restaurant.

A temporary closure, for a good reason

We want to make the most important thing clear: we are not going anywhere. This closure is only a pause to improve our facilities and keep offering you the excellence you expect from us, both in our service and in every dish that leaves our kitchen.

Continuing to be part of Barcelona's culinary history means taking care of ourselves and renewing. These renovations are exactly that: an investment so that Bodega Joan stays alive, strong and faithful to its essence for many more years.

In the meantime, we'll be waiting for you at Season

We don't want you to go without your favourite cuisine during these weeks. That's why we invite you to visit Season Restaurante, our neighbouring restaurant, on the same corner, right across from Bodega Joan.

At Season you'll find the same owners, the same kitchen and the same love for Spanish and Catalan cuisine you already know. It is, quite simply, another way to keep enjoying what we do.
